How to make your home affordable again in the age of Trump
The Real Estate Commission of New York said Wednesday that it was considering a lawsuit from the owner of a New York City home who says he was kicked out of his home after refusing to pay for repairs.
A man identified in court documents only as “A.J.” sued the commission in federal court, saying that his home, in the Bronx, was not up to code for two decades.
The commission declined to comment Wednesday.
The man said he tried to get the commission to help him repair his home but that he was told to leave, and he said he left for two weeks before being told he could return later.
He said he paid $50,000 for the repairs.
The commission said in a statement it is investigating the complaint and will review the facts and circumstances of this matter.
