The average salary of a Costa Rican is a little higher than the average salary in the United States, according to a new study.
The median salary of Costa Ricans was $40,847 in 2016, which is less than the $42,800 median in the US and more than the median salary in Costa Rica, where the median annual income is $22,700.
Costa Rica also had a median annual salary of $20,200, about half the US median annual household income of $26,300.
Costas income has been rising, too, as it has grown by about $8,000 over the past decade.
The average Costa Rican salary was $32,000 in 2016.
